BAT’R UP History:

BATR’ UP was formed in 2006 by Tony Lawrence. It was named for the first letter of his family members: Beth, Anna, Tony, and Rebecca to form the word “BAT’R.” After many years of coaching and traveling to batting facilities, Tony transformed his Gainesville boat dock business into an indoor baseball and softball facility. In 2008, Ozone came to BAT’R UP  to provide quality baseball and softball instruction as well as strength, speed, and agility training for all sports and general fitness with personal training for individuals and groups.

Ozone Baseball History:

Years ago we began playing competitive sports and developed a love for competition and specifically, the game of baseball.   We spent hours playing the game, practicing to get better, and listening to coaches/instructors.  The Owings Brothers (Josh, Micah, and Jon Mark) went for personal instruction and developed many relationships that we continue to talk today about.

By the grace of God, the hard work, the hours of practice and competition, we can play at the next level.   As a family we wanted a place in our home town where we can share our experience, teach our love of the game, and encourage others in their pursuit of ‘Living’ the Dream!’  The Ozone began as a result of the Obros’ Christmas camp, which continues to take place every Christmas!

Mission Statement:

To change the lives of young people, equipping them to compete not only on the field of sports, but in the game of LIFE!.  We commit to providing a positive fun filled atmosphere with professional instruction.  Whether you pitch, hit, play a position, or just want to learn about the game when you come to the Ozone; you will leave here equipped and ready with a focus in front of you!  You will be asked to work outside of lessons or camps, because we believe it is vital in improving the skills necessary in the game!
